(Provisional) Park is a temporary indoor park that will be open to the public inside Co-Prosperity Sphere, an arts center in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood. The park will be made entirely from houseplants on temporary loan from Chicagoans. It will be open daily from 6am-11pm in March 2015.

Is it art? Yes. It is a creative project conceived by artist Allyson Packer and made possible through the participation of many individuals and organizations in Chicago. Unlike a typical gallery show, however, (Provisional) Park is intended to grow beyond a single artist’s vision. Its very existence depends upon the community lending their plants to the park, while the space itself is designed to operate as a resource for community members to relax, play or organize their own events. Is it a park? Yes. Really. So come and stay a while. Bring a picnic. Bring your baseball mitt. Bring a book. Bring your dog. Bring your friend. Bring your family. Bring something no one’s thought of yet. Or just bring yourself and enjoy the space. And come back again tomorrow. It’s your park.
